If you live in the Atlanta metro area, please join us the second Tuesday of every month for an open prayer meeting for Haiti. We meet at Cumberland Community Church located in the Smyrna area. We welcome everyone who would like to pray for Haiti!

We actively seek God's will for all we do. We believe that strong prayer support is the foundation for all of our efforts. We are grateful that you would remember us in prayer.

Please pray for the people of Haiti and the work of Haiti Cheri Harvest Life Ministries in Dolval, Mirel, and the surrounding areas. These are some specific ways you can pray:

Ministry: Pray for pastors Herve Pierre and Jean-Louis Ancles as they lead the churches in Dolval and Mirel. Pray for the church leadership and the church body, that they would be unified for the cause of the Gospel. Pray for the health and safety of the pastors, and that they would effectively lead their church families into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Because of the extreme poverty, the churches are not currently able to adequately support their pastors. Pray that people from North America will step in to fill the financial gap until the local churches are able to support them.

Medical: We have been able to purchase more than 5 acres of land which will be the future site for a permanent medical clinic. Pray that we will be able to establish the clinic in 2007, and that our vision for a full scale hospital in Dolval will come to reality in the years to come.

Education: Pray for the more than 400 students in grades K-9. Pray for the teachers. Pray that the students will learn the practical skills needed to be effective adult contributors in their communities, and that they will learn to honor God with their lives. Pray that we will be able to address the needs of the more than 400 children in Dolval who are not able to go to school now because of the limits to our capacity. Pray that we will be able to meet the needs of these children soon. Pray for funding to complete the school building, and for funding to operate the nutrition program at the school on a continual basis.

Development: Pray for us as we launch a microfinance program for the community in 2007. This program will enable the community residents to start their own businesses and establish financial independence. We will provide business education founded on Biblical principles, financial training, and will offer oversight for the fledgling businesses as they are started. It is our desire that this program will ultimately allow the community to become fully independent from outside charity, and that it will serve as a model for surrounding communities.

Please pray for the country of Haiti in general as she struggles with seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Pray that the gangs in the cities will stop the kidnappings,  brutality, and acts of terror. Pray that the government will become stable and take an interest in addressing the needs of the people. Pray for Godly leadership in the country that will transform it from the inside out. Pray for those who are hungry and sick, with nowhere to turn.
