Haiti Cheri Harvest Life Ministries has begun planting seeds in the village of Dolval in the northeast part of Haiti. The organization became acquainted with this village through Rev. Oris Guillaume, formerly the pastor of Dolval Baptist Church, and now a citizen of the United States and a missionary to Haiti. This village is an ideal launching point for work in Haiti because it has been evangelized since the 1950s. The people of the village need to be released from their focus on immediate concerns dictated by poverty so that they can see themselves as the true missionaries to the rest of Haiti. Work is well established in the four areas of ministry, medical, development, and education. We are on track to complete construction of a primary school building the first half of 2007. This year will also see the establishment of a microfinance program for the community, which will open the door to financial independence. We are seeking the means to establish a permanent clinic before the end of the year. We will continue to provide support the the churches in the Dolval and Mirel communities. We seek to provide comprehensive solutions using our own expertise and that of other organizations.
